The Big Bang Theory’s Best Era According to Fans Is Quite Telling

In a recent survey On the r/bigbangtheory subreddit, fans were asked to choose their favorite era of the show and were given two options: the first six seasons or the last six seasons. After the dust settled, Seasons 1-6 were clear winners with over 71% of the overall vote.

“1 to 5 was really great and super funny, then from 6 to 8 it was okay, then from 9 to 12 the quality dropped drastically and it was a bit forced”, u/mlon_eusk12 argued. From the poll numbers alone, it’s clear that many share the same view. It seems like “The Big Bang Theory” peaked early in its lifespan and never reached those heights afterward. However, that’s not to say the back half of the series is overtly bad or without its redeeming moments, as others have pointed out.

“I really enjoyed the first 6 seasons for the character development whereas I enjoyed the last 6 seasons because they were of higher quality and at this point the characters didn’t need to develop anymore so you could enjoy all of their unique characteristics and quirks,” wrote u/rayah01.

While the first era of “The Big Bang Theory” remains a clear fan favorite, chances are popular opinion will change over time. Perhaps future polls will see more appreciation directed toward the show’s later seasons.
