About the Center for Quantum Technologies

The Center for Quantum Technologies (CQT) is a research center of excellence in Singapore. It brings together physicists, computer scientists and engineers to do fundamental research on quantum physics and build devices based on quantum phenomena. Experts in this new discipline of quantum technologies are applying their discoveries to computing, communications and sensing.

CQT is hosted by the National University of Singapore and also has staff at Nanyang Technological University. With some 180 researchers and students, it offers a friendly and international working environment.

job description The research to be undertaken will be related to ongoing group research projects in the field of resource-efficient quantum algorithms for quantum machine learning and optimization for applications in finance, supply chain and chemistry. The work will involve the application and development of numerical and analytical methods as well as the use of cloud quantum hardware and simulators where the developed quantum algorithms will be implemented.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics or ECE or Mathematics
  • Solid experience in modeling physical systems
  • Good knowledge of quantum mechanics
  • Exposure to quantum information and computational concepts
  • Experience in numerical simulation ideally with Python
  • Exposure to one or more quantum programming languages ​​(qiskit, cirq or others)
  • Good communication skills in order to communicate effectively with stakeholders inside and outside the team and to converge design decisions.
