Promedica deploys Infor Cloudsuite Healthcare to reduce complexity and focus more on patient care

NEW YORK, March 9, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Infor, the cloud computing company, today announced that ProMedica, a nonprofit health and wellness organization based in Toledo, Ohiosuccessfully implemented Infor CloudSuite Healthcare on Amazon Web Services® (AWS). ProMedica needed to replace legacy systems and consolidate common functional requirements after acquiring HCR ManorCare in 2018, as well as meet demand for more financial reporting and merging inventory data, item reference and supplier reference. Since launching key HR, finance and supply chain applications, ProMedica has improved data sharing and streamlined processes. The organization also significantly increased the number of financial reports for monthly distribution and reduced the item master data from 60,000 items to 13,000.

Merging these two great companies meant more than just mixing different corporate cultures and developing business models. From an IT perspective, this also meant ensuring that the new organization’s business systems could easily and securely share data, operate across processes and consolidate financial data from its more than 1,000 business units and its multiple lines of business. To complicate matters further, both companies were relying on legacy enterprise systems that were nearing the end of their life.

“We brought two $3.5 billion businesses together,” said Murray MercierCIO of ProMedica,” and they were both on similar terms – for different reasons. But there was no migration to what one company had over another. Consolidating our systems with functional requirements municipalities would require switching to a completely new ERP system. $7 billion business on the way $10 billion is completely different from what we were doing at half the size.”

Prior to the merger, the two companies had independently determined that Infor solutions offered the best option for replacing their respective legacy systems. Infor’s healthcare-specific applications offered configuration flexibility and included everything from financial reporting to financial close, as well as the ability to monitor the close.

“We are able to recreate over 2,000 financial reports on a monthly basis. We have been able to consolidate a new chart of accounts, as well as a single inventory, item repository and supplier repository. With Infor CloudSuite Healthcare, we were able to reduce our inventory of items from 60,000 to 13,000. This had a huge impact on maintenance across the board for our hospitals and a huge cost saving for us,” said Gary MierzwiakVice President of Administrative Systems at ProMedica.

After all that this successful go-live achieved immediately, the thirst for innovation continues with plans to further improve financial processing and other key areas of the business with Infor over the next two to three years. . Yet, amidst all of this current and planned digital transformation, ProMedica’s mission remains the focus – patient care and satisfaction.

“Infor is a trusted partner for healthcare organizations like ProMedica because we have a reputation for providing services to thousands of customers over a shared infrastructure and we can rely on them to keep systems running smoothly,” said Matt Breslin, executive vice president of Infor. “By partnering with Infor, organizations have access to modern, cloud-based tools that support cutting-edge clinical care business processes now and as new challenges emerge. ‘continuous innovation, we are able to help our customers connect the mission of health with the business of health.
