OG beats Complexity on Overpass, knock them out of BLAST Premier fall groups

Complexity are the first team to be knocked out of the BLAST Premier fall groups after a 2-0 loss to OG in the first round of the knockout stage.

Team North America was relegated to the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, where they will have one last chance to qualify for the BLAST Premier Fall Finals in November. As for OG, they stay alive in the competition and can still earn their ticket to the fall finals.

OG dominated the entire match on Ancient, the first map of the series, but nearly let their 14-4 lead slip by the end of the second half. Complexity won nearly nine straight sets to add pressure to OG, but missed the chance to come back and OG won 16-13.

The international team didn’t make the same mistake on the second map, Overpass. OG ended almost all of Complexity’s offensive attempts in the first half (11-4) and quickly eliminated the North Americans by winning five straight rounds in side T. Abdul “degster” Gasanov, the new star player of ‘OG, finished the series with 47 wins and only 27 deaths despite Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli’s best efforts to stop him.

Another disappointing result for Complexity was the early elimination of BLAST Premier Fall Groups, who added hallzerk during the player break, hoping they could raise the standard of the team. It’s still too early to tell if the North Americans will need more roster changes to be competitive, but their first impression at a tier one tournament hasn’t been good.

OG will take on FaZe Clan tomorrow at 6am CT and the winner will face Astralis for a spot in the BLAST Premier Fall Finals, while the loser will be sent to the Last Chance Stage.
