Neighbor Theory: Susan Kennedy’s Exit Script Rumbled in Elly Conway’s Twist | Television & Radio | Showbiz and television
Susan (played by Jackie Woodburne) recently discovered that her husband, Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher), had invested over $200,000 of their life savings in a flawed business opportunity. As the couple are unlikely to get their money back, they will have to work harder to recover some of what they lost, but it has made their relationship strained for the neighbors. With just over two months to go before the Channel 5 soap is taken off the air and it’s been rumored that a whole host of old faces are set to return, but could Elly (Jodi Anasta) really be on a mission to give her aunt a saving grace?
It was announced earlier this month that over 20 characters would return and Elly would be among them, having left Ramsay Street two years ago.
She will be joined by her sister, Bea Nilsson (Bonnie Anderson), who also left Erinsborough last year as it looks like the sisters will be visiting Susan.
They could make their comeback upon learning that their aunt is suffering from financial problems and knowing that Karl has caused her so much grief over the years, they could offer her a way out.
As her road trip comes to an end, Bea could tell that Susan Elly has come to help her pack her things as she is moving to Switzerland with her sister.
Wanting the whole family to be together again, they might tell their aunt to leave her husband and go with them.

Elly could explain that there would be more than enough room for them, as she and Shaun Watkins (Brad Moller) did pretty well.
It would be a heartbreaking decision for Susan to make as she and Karl have been married for so many years and been through so much.
However, she would know deep in her heart that her choice to make an investment without telling him would be the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Packing up her things, she would tell Karl that she was going to file for divorce and had to start a new chapter in her life somewhere else.
As one of the most beloved couples to ever live on Ramsay Street, it would be heartbreaking to see them go their separate ways.
The actress who plays Elly, Jodi, has spoken in the past about returning to the show, but that was about Chloe Brennan (April Rose Pengilly).
Before having her baby, Elly had a brief romance with Chloe, but the couple eventually decided they were better suited as friends.
But it looked like Elly was still holding a torch for Brennan’s daughter as Jodi explained, “I hope Elly comes back for Chloe someday!
“My exit came at the right time, and while all ‘Chelly’ fans are sad that I’m leaving the show, I wouldn’t be closing the chapter on the couple just yet.
“Because I definitely didn’t,” she told Inside Soap and it’s likely the women will cross paths when Elly returns to Ramsay Street.

But Elly’s only goal could be to help Susan get away from Erinsborough and, as she is happy in her relationship with Shaun, could the beloved character once again extend the hand of friendship to Chloe?
The actress who plays Bea, Bonnie, also hinted at her character returning after leaving the show in 2021.
Bonnie said at the time: “Neighbors was an incredible training ground, and I will be forever grateful for all the lessons I learned there.
“It would be special to come back and reunite with everyone on and off screen,” she said in an interview with TV Week.
Sadly, it was the weekday drama’s cancellation that saw the two actresses make their long-awaited return.
Another person who will make a return in the final episodes will be Izzy Hoyland (Natalie Bassingthwaighte), Karl’s former love interest.
It could be that, as he realizes his marriage is over, Karl wants to do things with his daughter’s mother.
They’ve always had a complicated relationship but he could tell she was the one who ran away because he was married to Susan.
The actress who plays Izzy, Natalie, has made several appearances on the show over the years, but this will be her very last.
Speaking about the show’s cancellation, the actress said, “It’s heartbreaking for so many people.”
Natalie continued, “It’s been such an amazing launch pad for so many people, including myself. I’ve learned so much on the show.
“To say goodbye is kind of surreal to really end…I think you have to be grateful and say, ‘Wow, it’s been so long and it’s made a lot of people smile over the years. ‘
“But it’s hard on everyone, not just the cast, the writers, the crew. So many people have been employed by this show for many, many years.
“And it’s good to see Australian stories being told on Australian TV,” she told TV Tonight.
Neighbors airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5.
