Fitzy and Wippa’s ‘spitting door’ theory between Harry Styles and Chris Pine

Fitzy and Wippa have a theory that the ‘spitting door’ debacle that unfolded at the Don’t Worry Darling premiere yesterday was part of an elaborate prank between Harry Styles and Chris Pine.

ICYMI, the internet erupted when a video went viral that appeared to show Styles spitting on Pine’s lap at the Venice Film Festival. Although Pine’s rep has since denied that Styles spat on Pine, theories are still circulating about what really happened between the two actors.

During Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa radio segment this morning, the hosts reflected on an old 2013 interview they did with Pine and used it as evidence that Styles was playing a prank on Pine.

“Look, I think he’s a great actor. I don’t know if he likes promoting movies, though,” Fitzy said of Pine.

Fitzy recalled the 2013 interview with Pine and co-star Zach Quinto that was conducted to promote StarTrek. “Remember while we were going to the junket I could hear them whispering and they were talking about this blacksmith challenge. Basically to see how many complex words they could get into the interview to see who would be the winner,” said he explained.

“You know what, it actually sounded like ‘Let’s play a game of who looks like a w*nker titled,'” he said of the “puzzling” interview before replaying the scene.

During the interview, Pine and Quinto managed to drop elaborate words including “propinquity”, “mercurial”, “mid”, “euphonious” and “whirling dervish”, which is a ceremonial dance from the Middle East. .

Wippa recalled, “You wanted to call them about it at one point, but at the same time, at the same time, you’re trying to have some respect for the interview.”
