ChaosSearch enhances log analysis capabilities to eliminate architectural complexity issues

ChaosSearch has announced enhancements to its log analysis capabilities that make it easier for organizations to conduct large-scale exploratory and investigative analysis.

Built within the ChaosSearch cloud data platform and now available to all customers, the increased capabilities eliminate the architectural complexity and challenges created by traditional data platforms and dramatically improve time to insight, data reliability and costs.

The amount and variety of data generated by businesses has grown exponentially in recent years. While this should create limitless opportunities for businesses, the data lakes, warehouses, and lake houses they currently rely on are not designed for scale. With the outdated infrastructure of these platforms, organizations can only access and analyze a limited amount of data, which makes exploratory and investigative analyzes extremely difficult, expensive and time-consuming to perform.

In fact, the 2022 Data Delivery and Consumption Patterns Survey found that data quality and timeliness are the most pressing issues cited by respondents, with 65% saying these issues have increased over the past three years.

To address these issues, ChaosSearch provides augmented log analysis capabilities that will eliminate the trade-offs between data retention, performance, reliability, flexibility, and cost that organizations are forced to make today. Platform feature enhancements include:

  • Exact match and wildcard – Optimizes search/queries for maximum performance by allowing the selection of segments that a search/query needs to resolve a query as part of a query plan. By offering an average improvement of 2x to 5x, users can find answers faster.
  • Hiding Privacy Fields – Provides increased flexibility to customers, allowing them to hide sensitive content of object group columns on demand, and ensure data privacy and compliance needs are met.
  • Incremental load for Kibana Discover – Accelerates time to insight by improving data representation and accelerating the time it takes for users to view results from ChaosSearch platform queries in Kibana Discover views.

“ChaosSearch transformed the way we think about log analysis by providing a single platform that internalizes logs while outsourcing the work,” said Adam Dutko, vice president of cloud engineering at Sixth Street. “After deploying ChaosSearch, we now log everything. This not only saves a lot of time and money, but we now have better access to more data than ever before.

“If you’re using any of the existing database platforms today, it’s simply not possible to look at more than a day’s worth of data at a time without an astronomical price tag,” said Thomas Hazel, Founder, Technical Director, Chief Scientist, ChaosSearch. “We know how important forensic information is for businesses, especially when dealing with time-sensitive issues such as threats and system failures. Our platform makes it possible to run these types of searches on billions of data points in seconds. Deeper and broader log data storage, access and analysis is becoming the business difference, and our customers will lead the charge. »
