We saw the New Jersey girl gain her powers when she donned a bracelet from her Pakistani grandmother in the first episode of the MCU series. She was able to discharge energy fields and elongate her limbs due to this. However, Ms. Marvel Episode 2 hinted that Kamala Khan’s abilities seem to be more complex than we thought. This episode implied that her abilities actually came from herself rather than from the bracelet. Now, a brilliant new theory reveals that Ms. Marvel’s powers actually come from the multiverse. Here are the specifics:
Ms. Marvel’s powers in the comics versus the series:
It was agreed early on that Kamala Khan’s superpowers would be changed when Marvel Studios decided to introduce her into the MCU. An emerging notion, however, not only directly relates to Kamala’s initial abilities, but also to Spider-Man: No Way Home and the Multiverse as it currently exists. As Kevin Feige described it, the protagonist was “entering a very specific period of MCU continuity.” Without a doubt, this comment means that Kamala Khan is no longer an Inhuman in the MCU. However, she is almost certain to become a bigger part of the franchise in the future. So let’s see how Ms. Marvel’s original abilities are inextricably tied to the multiverse.

What this MCU theory suggests:
Kamala has the ability to change her size into that of a skyscraper or an ant, in conjunction with her elastic body. However, several admirers wondered how Kamala Khan managed to do it, especially because when she shrunk, her excess weight disappeared. Moreover, when she grew several times larger than her original size, she gained volume seemingly out of nowhere. Even some characters, like Kamala’s friend Bruno, had doubts, and when his powers were unleashed, Bruno immediately understood. It was soon proven that Ms. Marvel’s abilities depended on the Multiverse itself.
Confused? Well, the simplest explanation might be that Kamala Khan combines her substance with the multiple versions of herself across time and space, and when she wields her superpowers, she literally crosses worlds to the molecular scale. Ms. Marvel, for example, grew larger by absorbing the mass of several Kamala Khans from other realities that were shrinking at the time. Surely you must be thinking this sounds like a very crazy and inventive description of how his powers work. But if given the chance, it would also serve as a handy cover for Kamala to appear in multiverse storylines.
How this theory is announced in the series:
In the series, as soon as Kamala puts on the bracelet, her eyes turn purple and she falls into what appears to be another realm. Before that, viewers are exposed to the sight of purple tears forming around her, and it feels like deja vu, doesn’t it? Well, that’s because the entities that started making their way to Earth-616 in the multiverse in No Way Home, causing identical tears. Moreover, what Kamala sees in those tears is an even stranger coincidence: Hundreds of luminous white-eyed people surround her. Could these individuals be other Kamala counterparts from different universes? Not to mention the fact that Kamala is portrayed as slipping into this reality, similar to how she had her vision in “Generation Why.”
All of these are just speculations, however. For now, fans will have to stick to watching Ms. Marvel on Disney+ to fully understand the depth of her powers and whether or not they’re tied to the Multiverse.
