Jim Parsons broke character

Jim Parsons plays Sheldon Cooper. In real life, Parsons made unbreakable friendships with Mayim Bialik (Amy Farrah Fowler) and the rest of the cast. A snippet of how Parsons gets along with his colleagues is seen in the background of one scene, according to a Reddit user.

“Spotted Jim Parsons breaking character with Kaley Cuoco,” the Redditor wrote. In the scene, the camera focuses on the conversation between Leonard and Bernadette, but in the background, Sheldon is seen laughing sincerely with Penny and Amy. However, this laughter and behavior is not normal for Sheldon. It was really Jim Parsons talking casually with his friends since he wasn’t the star of the scene.

A Russian spelling mistake

Howard goes to space - tbbt

Howard was thrilled to have the chance to go into space on a Russian rocket. After months of training, Howard was nervous but ready for a new experience.

In the scene where Howard launches into space, a Reddit user noticed a misspelling in Howard’s Russian spelling. “I spotted an error in the broadcast! Wolowitz’s name in Cyrillic is not supposed to be ‘ВОЛОВИТЗ’ but rather ‘ВОЛОВИЦ.’ Also, Russians read Howard as “Говард”, which sounds like “Govart”, so it really should have been “Г. ВОЛОВИЦ.”

Background details

Fans on Reddit likes to dissect props and background art found in the apartments or labs of TBBT characters. In a few scenes, there’s a large gray detail in apartment 4A that had split fans. While some thought it was something star trekothers knew it was something more scientific.

After Reddit u/Superblinky asked “What’s the poster?”, u/Fleetyy replied that it was a “table of the electromagnetic spectrum”. Fans validated the user’s answer from a blog called Hunting accessories, which confirms it. Having a Quantum Physics poster in their apartment is a mark for both of them and great work on set production.

Sheldon’s original laptop is discontinued

It’s not just books or posters that Redditors want to read about in TBBTthey are also interested in the technology used by the gang.

Sheldon has had a few different laptops on the show, but Redthis u/Young_Pedro asked “What laptop is this?” The consensus, according to Reddit u/Begley291 was that it was not an “Alienware” product. “Not an Alienware, just an early Dell XPS model. Sheldon won’t get an Alienware until later,” they wrote. What makes this remarkable for fans is that during this time the games they were playing would have run better on a desktop computer than on their laptops, according to Reddit u/GrapeJuiceCheese.

Penny’s last name?

While fans adore Penny’s friendship with Sheldon and her romance with Leonard, there were a few things that didn’t make sense about Penny. Among the group, Penny was the only character without a last name. It was never said and could not be seen anywhere.

However, in one episode, Penny opens a package she received in the mail and Reddit u/Quell_Alma noticed something fuzzy on the postage of the package. “Penny’s maiden name is Teller,” they wrote. If fans zoom in, they can see he’s delivered to Miss Penny Teller – a mystery fans have been trying to solve for years.

One word: Tomatoes

Beverly and the gang at the lunch table at Caltech on TBBT

One of the things that The Big Bang Theory reason to work at a university was that the men regularly took their lunch breaks at the same time in the school cafeteria. Those scenes where the group was conversing or arguing over lunch were some of the best. However, the way the characters eat TBBT caused a wave of criticism.

The characters played with their food more than they ate. Reddit u/gb715 wrote of the little detail they noticed: “Anyone else notice how during the dinner/lunch scenes the actors play with their food while talking but end up picking a cherry tomato and putting it in their mouths? Why is it always the cherry tomatoes?” Other fans said the cherry tomatoes were easy to chew on camera, but now it’s a detail fans crave.

Sheldon’s email address

Sheldon's Lost Bird Flyer for The Big Bang Theory

In one episode, Sheldon is beside himself when a stray bird enters his apartment. Sheldon is afraid of birds and wanted them out of his life as quickly as he could. However, the more time he spent with the bird, the more he grew to like it and his fear faded. Facing his fear with the help of friends was one of Sheldon’s most interesting moments.

Eventually he made a flyer for his apartment complex to alert those he found a bird. A small detail that Reddit u/Flelk noticed was Sheldon’s email at the bottom of the flyer. Reddit u/Daveywheel even went so far as to email the address. “Nothing so far… Usually televised emails immediately bounce back with some kind of content or advertisement, but I tried an hour ago, and no response,” they wrote. Fans hope to receive a response once the creator verifies the account.

The fourth wall of apartment 4A

Since The Big Bang Theory is filmed in front of a live audience, there are apartment walls, a comic book store, and Caltech that audiences rarely see. However, a few Redditors spotted a few snaps where this detail was shown.

Reddit u/RCase wrote, “As far as I know, this is the only ‘4th wall’ shot of Sheldon and Leonard’s apartment.” In the scene, Sheldon plays a throwback video for Amy of him pranking Leonard while he’s at his desk. Reddit u/KingOfSpades also shared a photo where the gang looks at the camera, showing the fourth wall in the background. “A rare look at the wall we never see,” they wrote. We rarely talk about this detail so it’s amazing that the Redditors have spotted these moments.

Amy’s apartment

Sheldon gives Amy something on her doorstep on TBBT

Before Amy and Sheldon’s relationship timeline got hot and heavy, she lived alone across town. Amy’s apartment was the perfect reflection of herself before she moved out and moved in with Sheldon.

There was a detail about his apartment that Reddit u/WhitneyFayth caught. “I just realized Amy’s apartment number was 314. I feel stupid for not noticing that sooner!” they cried. The meaning is that 314 is the start of Pi – a mathematical constant. Other fans added that most of the characters’ house numbers reflect something scientific or important.

Details on the TARDIS

TARDIS door handles are different on TBBT

Although these two love each other, Bernadette and Howard’s relationship timeline has been bumpy with a few doses of sarcasm and jokes. And even though Bernadette loved her husband, she no longer wanted her life-size TARDIS taking up space in their garage.

Howard didn’t want the TARDIS to leave, but it seems Amy ended up taking him home and turning the TARDIS into her bedroom door. Reddit u/JCogni noticed a small detail on the Tardis that differed from when fans first saw it. “The doorknob was different on the TARDIS in Howard’s house compared to the one attached to Amy’s room,” they wrote.
